How To Get Too Many Remote Connection In The Latest Version 6.2?
Starting with Remotix 6 for desktops and Remotix 8 for smartphones, Remotix Cloud connections work the following way: regardless of the number of saved connections to a computer, there is one ‘master’ connection for each Remotix Cloud computer where you have a Trusted access level, marked with a blue cloud icon:
Generally, these are managed on the Agent side: the Cloud machines appear in your Stored list automatically when you are added somewhere as a Trusted user, and they disappear when you are removed from the list.
However, you can delete these connections from the Remotix side too. Once you remove the master connection, you are automatically removed from the Trusted Users list on that computer, so please make sure you won’t remove one of them while cleaning up.
If you see too many obvious duplicates (same address and credentials), this might be the result of sync previously made with iCloud. In this case, it might be best to choose the Table view, sort the stored connections by address and manually remove those that seem to have no difference from their neighbors.
How To Upgrade Remotix Software?
If you purchased Remotix in Mac App Store, it didn’t have an explicit license key, neither had it a maintenance time counter. The developer team are not updating Remotix to v6 in the App Store, so you need to obtain a license key.
So, You need to download latest version by clicking Download button.
For the convenience of its users who purchased Remotix from the App Store, Remotix 6 comes with a built-in license converter. The converter requires both Remotix 6 and the App Store version of Remotix 5 to be installed on your Mac, so please keep both versions of Remotix on your Mac until the conversion is done.
To convert your MAS license:
- Don’t remove Remotix 5 from your computer.
- Download Remotix 6.
- Install and launch Remotix 6.
- Go to Remotix > Convert MAS License in the menu to open the converter.
- Click Select button and navigate to the Mac App Store version of Remotix 5.
- Provide the desired email to which you want to tie your license key.
- Click the Convert button.
How To Export Stored Connections From Remotix 5 To 6
If you have moved from the Mac App Store version of Remotix 5 to Remotix 6, you may find that Remotix 6 doesn’t import your connections. To export connections, please launch Remotix 5 where you got all the connections stored, authorize with your Remotix Cloud account, and then go to Remotix Preferences > Sync and choose ‘Store computers in Remotix Cloud‘. Once you do this and repeat the same in Remotix 6, all the connections should be imported successfully. The only hassle is that this will not transfer the credentials as Remotix 5 didn’t support the Remotix Cloud keychain.
