How to get PS4 games with free PS5 Upgrade Latest

Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which was released last year, was one of the big games that received an update. It was released in June, along with an expansion called Episode Intermission, which included Yuffie Kisaragi, a fantastic ninja. Current owners will receive the next-gen upgrade for free, while those who purchased the game through PlayStation Plus in March will not. Yuffie content costs an additional $20 and is exclusively available on PlayStation 5.

Doom Eternal was another game that recently received an improvement. It adds HDR 10, ray tracing, and the ability to run at 120 frames per second to the game’s graphics, but you won’t be able to transfer your save from the PS4 version.

PS4 games with free PS5 upgrade

The PlayStation 5 is officially available, although it has been in and out of stock at stores. The digital-only model tagged $400, while the disc-drive model costs $500.

Because game upgrades aren’t done automatically or through a standard game update, it’s easy to remain playing the PS4 version of a game on your new PS5. To upgrade to the PS5 version, go to the game’s website on the PlayStation Network and select it. This will download the additional data required for the next-generation features.

If you have a physical PS4 game and purchased a PS5 with a disc drive, you can switch to the PS5 version. To play the PS5 version, you’ll always need to utilize the PS4 disc; upgrading won’t offer you a free digital copy of the game. The PS5 upgrade will still be downloaded from the PSN, but you won’t need a PS5-specific disc because your PS4 one will serve as an authenticator.

You’re out of luck if you chose the digital-only PS5 and have a CD. There are a few more restrictions and caveats to consider:

• Some PS5 ports of current PS4 games are yet to be released.
• The next-gen versions will be larger files, taking up more space on the console’s SSD.
• You’ll get a new set of trophies (each version’s list is different).
• Some games’ saves will not transfer, and others will require you to manually upload your save from the PS4 version before accessing it on the PS5.
  Some game enhancements are only available in special editions or cross-gen packages.

Major change in First-party policy

Sony initially stated that you couldn’t get a free upgrade from the PS4 to the PS5 edition of Horizon Forbidden West unless you purchased the more expensive Digital Deluxe, Collector’s, or Regalla Edition. It eventually changed its mind, stating that anyone who purchased the PS4 version will be eligible for a free PS5 upgrade.

However, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan affirmed that future first-party game upgrades will be paid for.

“Moving ahead, PlayStation first-party exclusive cross-gen titles (newly released on PS4 & PS5) will offer a $10 digital upgrade option from PS4 to PS5,” he stated in a blog post. “This will apply to the future God of War and Gran Turismo 7, as well as any other unique cross-gen PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles issued by Sony.”
