Developed and published by IO Interactive, this game is the eighth main installment in the Hitman series and the third and final installment in the World of Assassination trilogy. The story follows the events of Hitman 2, wherein 47 and his allies continue to uncover the truths about the enemies they’ve been hunting.

The core gameplay concept of the Hitman 3 action stealth video game is focused on the third-person exploration of the various environments present in the game, with a goal of assassinating protected targets with any means necessary. To achieve their goals, players are tasked not only to simply explore their environment and locate targets, but also learn their schedules and find innovative ways of infiltrating into secure areas. The game promotes sandbox gameplay, with players having the ability to knock out or assassinate random NPCs in their surroundings, taking their clothes as disguises, eavesdrop on conversations to learn valuable clues about their targets, and use interactive elements in environments as a tool in their assassination attempts.

It improves upon the Glacier technology that powered its previous titles, enabling gamers to become even more immersed in detailed and interactive environments in this latest Agent 47 adventure. The game puts players into rich destinations full of diverse NPCs, public and secure locations, and millions of combinations of actions that can lead to the mission’s success. Finding new disguises, tampering with equipment, discovering target movement schedules, and being in a right place at the right time have never been so engaging as before.

The central campaign of Hitman 3 is separated into six main chapters and an epilogue, which are located in six distinct worldwide locations – Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, Chongqing, Mendoza, and the Carpathian Mountains. Locations and missions present in the first two Hitman games (both base games and their numerous DLC expansions) can be imported to Hitman 3 if the players own those games on the same platform. While Hitman 1 and 2 had some multiplayer modes, this final game in the series will be single-player-only, with some MP modes being available only with AI-controlled opponents. The game is available on the Windows PC platform as an Epic Games Store exclusive.
