What Is The TikTok Creator Fund Program? Should You Join?
TikTok launched the Creator Fund in spring 2021, with a $200 million initial investment. However, participant feedback has been mixed.
The TikTok Creator Program: What is it? How does it provide? Should I participate? This article will provide answers to all of these queries and more.
In the teen app market, TikTok is huge and only getting more popular. The app continues to grow and attract new users by the thousands despite numerous controversies. It’s obvious that some people can’t ignore the chance to become a TikTok celebrity.
The TikTok Next Level program is now known as the TikTok Creator Program. Although it has a hip new name, it appears to be the same thing—an elevated experience for the most significant creators.
What is the TikTok Creator Fund Program?
The platform’s higher level membership, TikTok Next Level, provides more support for creators. While “standard” users have access to all the tools they require to make their 15 second videos within the app, more active users, businesses, and individuals looking to make a living off of TikTok videos may require more assistance. The Next Level program fills that gap.
It provides early access, analytics, tech support, and the opportunity to interact with other creators. Everything missing from the default app.
TikTok isn’t typically supported, so when issues arise, you must turn to sites like ours. There is no live technical support, but there is a knowledgebase and some FAQs. A 72-hour response time is provided for ticketed support under the Next Level program. Better than what you’re used to on the app, though by no means extraordinary.
Analytics is essential if you’re trying to monetize your TikTok account or are promoting brands or companies. A weekly insights package from the Next Level program offers audience information that can help you focus your efforts. Although you probably already track this in some other way, this could provide additional information.
TikTok doesn’t exactly have a bevy of features, but if the app develops one, it will launch in early access first. You will be the first to see and use these features if you are enrolled in the Next Level program.
TikTok offers to host regular events so that Next Level creators can connect, exchange ideas, and methodologies.
The core benefit of the Next Level program is comprised of these four elements. Actually, not much else is known about this program. There is nothing from TikTok in the way of news, announcements, or explanations.
How does tiktok creator fund work?
If you want to join TikTok’s Creator Fund, please read the following criteria.
TikTok users aged 18 and up are eligible to apply for the fund if they meet the following criteria:
- They are a legal resident of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, or Spain.
- They comply with TikTok’s user terms and community guidelines.
- Their account has at least 10,000 genuine (not bought) followers.
- Their videos had at least 100,000 genuine views in the 30 days preceding their application.
In order to receive compensation, applicants must be able to link their account to a digital payment plan registered in their name.
There’s no better time than now to get involved with the TikTok Creator Fund. “TikTok is becoming increasingly difficult to grow on, so you need to move quickly and get started on the platform,” says Chris Kubbernus, CEO of Kubbco, a creative social media agency. “We recommend that clients focus on TikTok trends, see how we can relate those to them and their brand, and then create a unique piece of content that is highly relatable to their ideal audience.”
Unless you already have a significant audience from another platform, Kubbco estimates that it will take 50-100 pieces of content to reach the required 10,000 followers. “We’d recommend paid ads on TikTok if you want to jump-start the process,” he says. They are inexpensive and simple to implement.”

How to apply for the TikTok Creator Fund Program?
It is relatively simple to apply for the fund if you meet the application requirements. You must, however, have a Pro account before you can do so. It is simple to set up: Simply go to the “Manage Account” option in the app’s Settings and select “Switch to Pro Account.” Pro accounts have access to analytics to help you track video performance, audience growth, and engagement, in addition to access to the Creator Fund.
The Pro analytics tool provides insights in four categories:
- Overview allows you to view your overall account performance over specific time periods. You can see your total number of followers, total number of video and profile views, and total user engagement in the form of likes.
- Content post-specific metrics such as likes, views, comments, and shares are displayed in the content.
- Followers displays your follower demographics, such as location, gender, and number of hours spent on the app.
- Live shows information about any recent live videos you’ve posted.
Once you have a Pro Account, go to Settings and select “Creator Tools.” A “TikTok Creator Fund” button will appear. No essay, portfolio, or clips are required; simply click the button to confirm your age and agree to the fund’s terms. You’re good to go once TikTok confirms that you meet the requirements and approves your account.
If your application is rejected, you can resubmit it after 30 days. However, if you were rejected because you did not meet one of the requirements, make sure to address that before reapplying.
How much money does TikTok pay out from the Creator Fund?
The TikTok Creator Fund payment scheme is complicated and constantly changing. Rates are dynamically determined based on the total number of videos published by fund members. More creators participating in the programme means more creators sharing the funds allocated. The number of creators who can participate in the TikTok Creator Fund is currently unlimited.
While TikTok does not reveal its exact algorithm, several factors are considered when determining what creators receive. These factors include the number of views, the authenticity of the views (no viewbots), viewer likes, comments, and shares, and the location of the creator.
When the Creator Fund launched in the United States in 2020, it began with a $200 million pool and a pledge to increase to $1 billion over three years. The company began with the equivalent of $70 million in funding for the European market, with the expectation that it would grow to $300 million within three years.
Again, exact figures vary because rates are determined by a variety of factors. According to HootSuite, members can expect to earn two to four cents per 1,000 views on average. This means that an influencer with a million views per month could add $40 to their bank account. It’s not quite enough to quit your day job.
However, TikTok did not create the Creator Fund to provide users with one-time mega-payments or grants. The programme focuses on development and retention, encouraging creators to keep creating content for the app. The more informative, trendy, or entertaining content you create, the more views you’ll receive and the more money you’ll make over time. Other TikTok opportunities may pay more immediately (more on that below), but the fund will provide a consistent, if nominal, income stream to those who consistently find an audience.
Should you join the TikTok Next Level program?
How you use TikTok and how committed you are to it will determine whether you are accepted into the TikTok Next Level program. There doesn’t appear to be anything here to facilitate the production of videos or any tools to foster greater viewer engagement. Back end support, tech support, and analytics make up the bulk of it.
Unless you enjoy attending events or beta testing features before they are made available to the general public, early access and Creator Connections don’t really offer much.
It might be worthwhile to join if you’re promoting a company or brand and are having issues with the app. The analytics built into the program may also be useful, depending on the analytics tools you already use. Data drives marketing campaigns, and the more data you have, the more effectively you can hone your strategy.
Getting into the TikTok Next Level program
There is no other mention of this program anywhere, other than a signup form on the page. Since everyone would join, there must be some barrier to entry, such as a minimum number of followers, videos published, influence levels, or something else. There is no published information that I can locate that lists the requirements, but you can bet that there is a requirement to join.
Your name, email address, and TikTok username are all you need to sign up. There is no mention of any regulations, fees, requirements, or anything else. We don’t know if this reflects the program’s elitism or if nothing substantive came of it.
The TikTok Next Level program is a bit mysterious. Nothing has been written about it, there is no current news, and TikTok itself makes no mention of it. There is not enough information at this time to determine whether that is a positive or negative sign.
