YouTube
YouTube is a website that allows users to upload, share, and view videos online in an intuitive and hassle-free manner. You may even produce your own videos and publish them for other people to see and share. YouTube is now one of the most popular sites on the Internet, and each month, users watch close to 6 billion hours’ worth of video content on the platform. YouTube was initially launched in 2005.
If you’ve ever seen a video on the internet, you’ve probably watched one that was hosted on YouTube at some point. For instance, the vast majority of the video guides that can be seen on our website may actually be found on YouTube!
The vast selection of videos offered on YouTube is one factor that contributes to the website’s popularity. There is always something fresh to view on YouTube because over 100 hours of video are posted to the platform every minute on average. You may find videos on YouTube of all different topics, including cute kittens, strange food demonstrations, humorous science courses, easy-to-follow fashion advice, and a whole lot more.
Have a look at some of the videos that we’ve embedded from YouTube below. They should provide you with a solid overview of the vast variety of information that can be found on YouTube.
Another factor contributing to YouTube’s immense popularity is the emphasis placed on user-uploaded material. You won’t discover movies from large television networks or movie companies on our website; rather, you’ll see videos that were made by people just like you who are incredibly creative. And YouTube is not a one-way street; you can participate by uploading your own films, which you can then share with the community, and therefore become a part of it.
Because there is so much content on YouTube, it is imperative that users are aware that not all videos on YouTube are suitable for everyone, particularly children who are younger than 13 years old. On the other hand, there are options available to you, such as Safety Mode, that will limit the kinds of films that you are able to watch. In the next section of our course on how to use parental controls, we’ll go into more detail about this topic.
You might have noticed that the structure of this video is a little bit different if you’ve utilised any of the other free, self-paced tutorials that we offer on our website in the past. We came to the conclusion that the most critical abilities should be broken up into brief, activity-based sessions rather than merging unrelated tasks into longer ones. We really hope that this makes it simpler for you to navigate from one class to the next and locate the information that you require. If you’d rather take things one step at a time, that’s perfectly acceptable! Just go in the correct order through the lessons.
Throughout this session, you’ll notice that we’ve created our own YouTube videos (similar to the one that’s currently playing), in order to provide you with a little bit more context and information on a variety of different subjects. In addition to the content that we have created ourselves, you will also find a number of films from the official YouTube Help channel that will walk you through the various steps of navigating the YouTube user interface.
