Smooth Video Project (SVP) converts any video to 60 fps (and even higher) and performs this in real time right in your favorite video player.
Some would say that frame rate conversion is not worth efforts and results in almost the same low-quality video as image upscaling, often with soap opera effect, which they hate. But they are wrong! From the extensive feedback from the community, it learned that anyone who actually watched at least 3 movies at a high frame rate would never ever want to watch anything in the obsolete 24 fps standard.
SmoothVideo Project (SVP) uses the same frame interpolation technique as available in high-end TVs and projectors (see “TrimensionDNM”, “Motion Plus”, “Motionflow” and others). It increases the frame rate by generating intermediate frames between existing ones in order to produce very smooth, fluid and clear motion.
SVP provides GPU acceleration and allows to watch FullHD 1080p-video recalculated to 60Hz in real-time using a mid-range CPU and almost any GPU hardware. SVP actually is not a video player, but it allows almost any player to play a smooth video. Yeah, even in 3D
Smooth Video Project Extension
SVP tube 2 extension – watch almost any online video (including YouTube, Crunchyroll, Twitch and tons of other web sites) in your preferred video player with SVP and/or any post-processing enabled.
SVP code extension – a one-click video re-encoding solution aimed to produce exactly the same high frame rate video as you see in your video player with SVP doing its magic in real-time.
SVPcast extension – stream high frame rate video in real-time to Chromecast, Apple TV or any Android / iOS device in HTTP live streaming (HLS) format.
SVPlight extension – control hardware ambient backlight (so-called “Ambilight-like”) systems (such as Lightpack and Boblight) with SVP
Video Player Setup for SVP
Basically it is possible to set up any DirectShow compatible player to work with SVP. Just the difficulty grade of this procedure and the player’s capability to work with the additional capabilities of SVP differ such as frame cropping and outer highlighting.
The player setup may be pretty easy (as in case of MPC-HC) as well as requiring some preceding preparations (as in case of XBMC) – therefore this issue is extracted into a separate section. The setup result should be the appearance of the show icon in the notification are during video playback. It this icon does not appear, then you did something wrong.
Important: The video player, as well as the installed show version, must be 32-bit applications. SVP can’t work with the 64-bit video player.
