There are 2 kinds of PDF passwords: a PDF user password and PDF owner password. PDF User Password, also known as open password, protects your PDF files from opening. PDF Owner Password, also known as permissions /master password, restricts you from printing, editing or copying PDF.

How to remove password from PDF

After having selected which documents to unlock pdf, you have to specify the user password of each document i.e. the password used for opening them.

It is NOT necessary to specify the owner passwords i.e. the password used for setting permissions regarding the PDF Documents such as content copying, high-resolution printing, modifying e.t.c.

In the end Windows Explorer will open automatically with the unprotected documents having being selected.

It is also possible to specify the output folder of the unprotected PDF Documents. If another folder is specified then the unprotected pdf document will have the same filename as the original one.

You can also choose to overwrite the original documents or to create the unprotected PDF documents in a subfolder of their original folder. For example, you can specify to create them in a subfolder “unprotected”.

If you choose to overwrite the original documents, there is also an option to keep backup of the change files. This software remembers your last five output folder options.
