Is DeskScapes free?

The DeskScapes demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions compared with the full version.

DeskScapes is telling me I don't have a video codec. What does that mean?

Windows 8 no longer includes a MPEG2 video decoder by default(most Windows 7 installs do include this). We recommend video dreams be encoded as .AVI or .WMV files to be compatible with Windows 7 and 8. MPEG4 dreams in AVI format (NOT MPEG 4 part 10/h.264) should work fine as well.

Does wallpaper engine affect performance?

You would be pleased to know that Wallpaper Engine has been optimized to affect performance as little as possible. The application allows you to customize the performance impact, so the short answer is no; it does not affect performance.

Is Deskscapes safe?

Stardock is legit, but as with any software make sure you get it from the source and always have a security suite installed. … Stardock is very trustworthy, they’ve made many great everyday applications (pppsssttt take a look at fences!), as well as many high quality games past and present (including Ashes!).
